NEW Beechwood* ˜ 60 km L1 & L2
10:00 am start at KTC. Any L1/L2’s interested in a cycle to www.beechwoodottawa.ca . They will be having “Beechwood’s Annual Historical Walking Tour” at 2:00 p.m. See below, or go to website. The round trip distance is about 60 km via the bike paths, and I will stop 2/3 for a decent break. If we start from KTC at 10:00, we should plenty of time. Note that it is a walking tour, so come with some extra shoes. Also, that by the time the tour is over and we get back to Kanata, it will probably be around 6:00 or so. Note that this is another ‘experiment’ on my part.
If anyone is interested I prefer they call me at 613-271-1777, or send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Annual Historical Walking Tour – Life in 1867
02:00 pm - 04:30 pm
Come with your family and friends to Beechwood’s Annual Historical Walking Tour at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 10th.
150 years ago, a sleepy lumber town was transformed into the capital of the newly created nation, Canada. Come and hear the voices of those who participated in Confederation and witnessed the transformation of our city. Share in the stories and lives of real individuals who held traditional roles in society, each shaping the country in their own way. Actors will bring to life seven men and women who embody what life was like in the year 1867 followed by a light snack and period style dancing for your entertainment.
Don’t miss this stroll through beautiful and historic Beechwood, the National Cemetery of Canada.
Please note that our event is outdoors and will include roughly 1.5 to 2 hours of walking.
